is the iPhone so popular and also such a commercial
success? I believe the answer is more than simple. Apple is living an idea,
which all competitors have promised to their customers but not achieved. An
intuitive, easy to handle product without the comprehensive manuals to read.
A strategy we all should embrace! Starting
in 2006 we began using easily handled hardware and software products. It is
essential to focus on the basic, not the feasible functionalities. The focus
of our developments is not maximum technology & features, but
user-friendliness. It
is our permanent goal to keep the OSD menus of our Prisma
boards clearly arranged in order to minimize the commands on a
project-oriented basis. Our user software ArtistaControlCenter
is another example of this, which can be used without complex manuals, and is
regularly confirmed by our customers. Your
feedback is important to us. Never hesitate to contact us with your ideas for

As
we already advised in our May Newsletter, at the beginning of this year we
decided to meet the challenge of financial ratings. This has meant that we
have had to relentlessly open all financial books. This allows you to have a clear view on our sustainability as your
long term partner. The first rating via the trade insurance
market was finished with AA+. Besides this rating of the
world’s leading trade insurance companies, in the middle of this year
we decided to also open our books for the tough rating of the German Federal
Bank. The Federal Bank rates the financial background in 7 levels. Level
1 – 4 means that every loan issued by a commercial bank to a customer
is fully accepted by the Fed as substantial deposit. Our rating is 2.5. This means that YOU CAN RELY ON US! Brigitte

Perfect video walls with new 46“ DID panel from Samsung
|

|

|
The LTI460AA04
is a 46" TFT panel (1366x768) with Super
Narrow Bezel Technology. With its ultra-slim bezel this TFT is specially
designed for video walls - the maximum bezel width between two screens is
only 7mm. Due to
its SPVA technology this panel
offers a viewing angle of 178°
(horizontally and vertically). In addition, this E- DID-Panel provides
superior optical characteristics for professional applications such as a 700 cd/m² brightness value and a
contrast ratio of typ. 3000:1. The
backlight inverter is already integrated on board. Despite the large screen
size and despite the high brightness value the LTI460AA04 has
optimized power consumption and the weight is only 16 kg. More information

bezel of the LTI460AA04, you can see two pictures below comparing our 2x2 video walls. On

PrismaMEDIA II: Test results by 3G SDI Broadcast Company

The PrismaMEDIA II
Rev. 1.0 has been completely tested in our laboratories for all input
signals. Due to the fact that this is our first use of
the 3G SDI (Serial Digital Interface) input, we asked one of our German
customers in the broadcast industry to do us the favor,
and test the SDI-performance. The feedback was
very positive.
Therefore we released the production for the first batch based on the Rev.
1.1. Beginning in the end of January 2010 the first production run should be
available ex stock for samples and small series. The CAD-3D data for your construction is
already available. |

Product announcement 2010: ArtistaNET with Power over Ethernet

The next member of our Artista family already left the concept phase and should
be available in samples mid Q2 2010. The new board will be a derivate
of our successful LAN
Controller-Boards ArtistaNET, which will provide Power over Ethernet (standard 802.3at bis 25W). With this latest PoE-standard we can offer combinations with TFTs up to 15", which can be directly powered via
the network. For the development we decided to
keep it 100% mechanically compatible with the current ArtistaNET, but to use the performance and

When it comes to digital advertising, door signs or
price labels as well as digital
welcome boards we have developed
solutions with high international acceptance. The combination of our innovative LAN controller board ArtistaNET and sophisticated 3rd party
conference management software results in digital signage applications with
low power consumption (Green-IT), a high security
level without the need of a firewall (Linux-based system), no IT maintenance
and unlimited expandability: all together a very low cost of ownership. Any size display between 6.5” and
82” can be utilized, also with touch functionality for interactive
communication (e.g. confirmation of meeting room occupancy via code number).
Room for creativity: mediaDIALOG GmbH adjusted
this popular software for our ArtistaNET
board. This modular, flexible and advanced software offers comprehensive
functionalities including touch screen functionality. For more information

Customer application: 22” advertising-terminals in city busses
|

|
One
of our Slovenian customers offers Digital Signage Systems for public
transportation vehicles. For
a new project 4 x 22”
advertising-terminals in portrait-mode
(PVA wide view technology required) were to be installed in city busses.
These terminals would be able to be updated from the headquarters with any
content via GSM. Also, a multi-display functionality (via
Daisy Chain) was required to simultaneously adjust the panels’
brightness, contrast and color. Switching between
manual and automatic brightness adjustment was a requested add-on. Remote monitoring of the
panels’ key parameters was the project’s final specification. Our
choice for the TFT was the LG LM220WE4 with PVA wide view technology and
a resolution of 1680 x 1050. Good availability, high performance. For the GSM communication and content
allocation a front IPC is used. This IPC is connected to the RGB/DVI/Video TFT controller board Prisma Ruggedized.
The Prisma Ruggedized can be operated with an input voltage range of 15V - 36V and is
directly connected to the bus’ power supply system (nominal 24V with
strong voltage swings). Lockable connectors and a very rugged design provide
long-term reliability for daily use in a harsh environment (vibrations,
shocks etc.).
The multi-display functionality and
the remote monitoring is achieved with the TFT diagnostics-board ARCB II.
Key features are measuring internal temperature and TFT / inverter current as
well as counting the operating hours. Optionally the panel’s brightness
is measured and adjusted via a digital Ambient Light Sensor. The ARCB-Board of each display unit
was connected via RS-485 utilizing the Daisy-Chain system (between the single
ARCB up to max. 1000m possible). The content update is transmitted via
the GSM network. Each bus is
easily located via GPS, utilizing
content management corresponding to the current bus position, allowing
specially defined content to be displayed according to the unique position of
each bus. For example when the bus is approaching a shopping mall,
corresponding product ads will be shown. We would be pleased to assist you with
